Meet Kansas City Bankruptcy Attorney Stephan Skepnek
Stephan L. Skepnek was raised in Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago in June 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Germanic Studies. During his undergraduate years he was the recipient of the McKenzie Research Grant and F.L.A.G. Recipient. This allowed him to live and study in Germany, including a semester abroad in Freiburg and several summers in Berlin.
He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in May 2015. During law school he worked as legal assistant at the Skepnek Law Firm and transitioned to an associate attorney role with the firm after graduation. In late 2016, Stephan moved into the public sector where he served as Litigation Counsel at the Kansas Corporation Commission and specialized in public utilities regulation. Before joining The Sader Law Firm in November 2018, Stephan worked at Koprince Law Firm in Lawrence, Kansas. He represented small and disadvantaged businesses competing for government contracts before the Small Business Association and the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
Since the beginning of his legal career, Skepnek has developed his research and analytical skills by applying himself to complex problems in diverse areas of the law. Today, he prefers cases which require collaboration across industries and enjoys the opportunities bankruptcy law provides to advocate for clients in times of financial need.
